But if you must pick one of them?

Soyinka’s style, unorthodox, non conventional, manufacturing of words et al the content and context sometimes have left me almost breathless…. Ok without any disrespect to Mazi Achebe, Soyinka will pick my vote.

On children and the challenges of fatherhood?"

They are a special gift from God. My kids have given me so much joy than I ever imagined possible in a single lifetime. Prince – that’s the first one, left me close to tears on his very first day in school. He wouldn’t allow me leave him in the hands of a man he reckoned was a complete stranger- the Head teacher. He appeared to be in complete shock that his daddy was leaving him with total strangers. Ofonime- that’s the second one prefers to eat his dinner with me and then sleep in my arms- even though I return at midnight . Princess- that’s my daughter would stop at nothing to eat, sleep and drink with me. As I drive home after each hard day’s work, nothing excites me more than their smiling faces as I alight from the car into their warm embrace… nothing else…believe me.

Your view on the vexed issue of religious diversity?

Respect for other people’s religious affiliations is key to the survival of the human race. If you have a third world war… some say it has started already in the Middle East , then if it has religious colouration that would be it.

On education?

Again my father was right on this when he postulated that it is the only true legacy you can give your child. ..over and above all the wealth and treasures on earth.  An educated child is an asset to society… any society.

What about Corruption in public office?

Zero tolerance to corruption is possible if we have the proper monitoring mechanisms but its not fair to witch hunt the opposition while those in government indulge in this sordid spectacle.
